Plug Proxy can be set up on various devices, including PC/Mac desktop computers and laptops, iOS/Android mobile devices (such as smartphones and tablets), smart TV sets, set-top boxes, and game consoles.

Using Plug Proxy has the advantage of being able to be installed on a variety of devices depending on your needs.
The steps needed to set up your device for Plug Proxy are straightforward, and most devices can be configured easily.

However, as every device has a different layout menu, it is advisable to check detailed descriptions of how to do it on a specific device. With detailed instructions on how to Set-Up Plug Proxy on any device, it’s much easier to set it up.

How To Setup Plug Proxy In Amazon Fire TV?

Before using your Fire TV, configure your router to connect all devices in the network to the Plug Proxy. Find your router's IP using the method below.

Set up the Smart DNS Plug Proxy on your Fire TV with these guidelines if router access is unavailable.
 
Find the Router IP on Windows
  1. Open the command prompt program.
  2. Type "ipconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter.
  3. Look for the default gateway IP address, which is most likely the IP address of your router.
Find Router IP on OS X
  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click on Network.
  3. Click on Advanced.
  4. Select the TCP/IP tab.
  5. The router's IP address should be listed here.
Change the DNS on Amazon Fire TV
  1. Go to settings.
  2. Select Network.
  3. Select Wi-Fi.
  4. Choose your Wi-Fi network and forget it by pressing the button with 3 lines.
  5. Press the select button.
  6. Select your Wi-Fi network.
  7. Enter your Wi-Fi password and click on advanced.
  8. Enter the first three groups of numbers exactly the same as your router's IP address. For example, if your router IP is 192.168.0.1, then use the IP address 192.168.0.7 or something of that nature. The important part is to change the last digit to get an IP from the same IP range as the router.
  9. For the Default gateway, enter the IP of your router.
  10. Input 24 for the Network Prefix Length and click Next.
  11. Enter 212.32.240.145 for DNS 1.
  12. Enter 104.200.137.81 for DNS 2.
Change the DNS on the Amazon Fire TV (Wired)
  1. Open Settings
  2. Select System
  3. Choose Network (wired)
  4. Click on Configure Network
  5. Enter a valid IP address from your home network and set the prefix length to 24
  6. Press Next
  7. Set the gateway to the router IP and press Next
  8. Set DNS 1 and press Next
  9. Set DNS 2 and press Next
  10. Finally, make sure to restart your Amazon Fire TV to apply the changes.

How To Setup Plug Proxy in Roku TV?

To use the smart DNS Plug Proxy on your Roku, update your router's DNS settings since Roku lacks advanced network settings. Configure your router first, especially for Roku TV users. This connects all devices to the router and allows access to the Plug Proxy. Find your router's IP by following the method below and take note of it.

However, it's important to note that Roku's basic network features do not offer an option to set up DNS via the device itself. Therefore, to change the DNS settings, you'll need to set up DNS on your router instead.

  1. To reset Roku and make it accessible through a DNS Proxy, turn off your router so that Roku cannot access the internet.
  2. Scroll down your Roku menu with the remote and click on the 'Settings' option to open it.
  3. Select the 'Advanced System Settings' option under 'System Settings'.
  4. Press 'Factory Reset', enter the four digits displayed on the screen with your remote, and then press 'OK'.
  5. Turn on your router and login using a computer. Change the Primary and Secondary DNS in your router settings in accordance with the DNS address.
  6. Apply the changes and log into your static IP routing service website. Update your IP address to add it to the network.
  7. Select the country's VPN you want to set your Roku to and connect to it.
  8. Create a new Roku account using an address in the country you want to set it up.

How To Setup Plug Proxy in Apple TV?

Boost your Apple TV streaming speed by changing DNS settings after the initial setup.

It is recommended to configure your router before using your Apple TV. This will ensure that all the devices in your network are connected to the router, which enables access to the Plug Proxy.

In case you cannot access your router, you can follow the subsequent guidelines or instructions to configure the Smart DNS Plug Proxy on your Apple TV.

  1. From the Main Menu, select the Settings Icon.
  2. Click on Network and choose either Wi-Fi for a wireless connection or Ethernet for a wired connection.
  3. Select Configure DNS and then Manual.
  4. Enter the IP addresses of the preferred DNS server and an alternate DNS server in the fields provided. You can find a list of our DNS servers' IP addresses on our official website under the DNS Server List section.
  5. Enter the closest DNS server to your physical location as DNS1 and the second closest server as DNS2.
  6. Click on Done to save your changes.
  7. Finally, unplug the power cord of your Apple TV and plug it back in to complete the process.

How To Setup Plug Proxy in Google TV?

Improve Google TV streaming by changing DNS settings. Plus, no need to reconnect after the initial setup as it will automatically connect on the next use.

Configure your router before accessing Plug Proxy on all devices through Google TV. Note your router's IP address by your preferred method.

If you are unable to access your router, you can follow these guidelines or instructions to set up the Smart DNS Plug Proxy on your Google TV.

  1. Press the Home button and Click on Menu
  2. Click System Settings
  3. Click Network
  4. Click Ethernet or Wireless
  5. For any new wireless network: -Click Access Point and enter your password
  6. Change "IP settings" to "Static"
  7. For any existing wireless network:
  • Using arrow keys, move the selection to the Access point "Connected" network under "Wi-Fi networks"
  • Press and hold the 'OK' button on the keyboard
  • Click on "Modify network"
  • Change "IP settings" to "Static"
  1. For Ethernet: Change "IP settings" to "Static"
  2. Enter any "free" "IP address" available in your local network.
  3. Suggestion, and you must enter the valid value
  4. Enter Gateway
  5. Network prefix length: enter 24
  6. Enter DNS server 1 according to the closest physical location. DNS server 2, enter the 2nd closest DNS IP to your physical location. The list of IP addresses of our DNS servers can be found on our DNS Server List on our official website.
  7. Click Set
  8. Open the Google Chrome web browser and log in and verify your IP address
  9. Enter your email if prompted.
Make sure to RESTART your Google TV!

How To Setup Plug Proxy in Boxee Box?

For the best performance with your Boxee Box TV, configure your router to connect all devices and access the Plug Proxy.

Find your router's IP using your preferred method and make a note of it.

If you are unable to access your router, you can follow these guidelines or instructions to set up the Smart DNS Plug Proxy on your Boxee Box TV.

  1. Open the Boxee Box Settings.
  2. Navigate to General and select Location.
  3. Return to Settings and go to Network > Network.
  4. Under the Configure Menu, choose the option for Manually Selecting the DNS address on your Boxee Box.
  5. Enter the DNS Server 1 and DNS Server 2 addresses as required.
  6. Restart your Boxee Box to apply the changes.

How To Setup Plug Proxy in WD TV Live Player?

In case you cannot access your router, you can utilize the following instructions to configure the Smart DNS Plug Proxy on your WD TV Live Player.

  1. Select the "Settings" option from the main menu of your WD TV Live Player.
  2. Choose "Network Settings" and then select "Network setup".
  3. Select "Automatic" and wait for your WD TV to receive an IP address and other settings from the router.

Unfortunately, iOS prevents you from modifying DNS servers when using cellular networks. It's essential to remember that any changes you make will only affect the network you're connected to at that moment. If you switch to another wireless network, you must modify the DNS servers again. Fortunately, iOS saves the settings for each network, so you don't have to modify the settings every time you reconnect.

  1. Go to your iPhone home screen and tap "Settings".
  2. Scroll down and tap "Wi-Fi" to view all the available wireless networks in range.
  3. Tap on the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to, and then tap on "Configure DNS" and select "Manual".
  4. Click "Add Server" and add two of our DNS servers closest to your physical location. You can find our DNS servers' locations and IP addresses on our official website.
  5. Once you have added the servers, switch off your iPhone and restart it for the changes to take effect.

How To Set Up Plug Proxy On Your iPad Device?

How To Setup Plug Proxy On Your General Router?

Smart DNS Proxy setup is very simple and can be done with any router/modem brand.

1) Access Your Router Admin Panel
To access your router admin panel, enter your router/modem's IP address in your internet browser. You can easily find this information in your router/modem. Once you enter the correct IP address, it will take you to the router admin panel.

2) Enter Your Router Admin Credentials
Enter the correct username and password to log in to your router admin panel. Once you enter the right credentials, you will be directed to the admin panel of the router or modem.

3) Configure Your DNS Settings
Once logged in to the admin panel, you'll find a section where you can change your DNS settings. By default, your router may have automatic DNS settings, which means it's getting DNS IPs from your Internet Service Provider. However, you must change your DNS settings if you want to use Smart DNS Proxy IPs.

4) Check the DNS Server List
Visit our DNS Server List and find the IP addresses of the closest DNS servers to your location. Note down the Primary and Secondary servers.

5) Access Your Router Settings
Login to your router settings using your admin username and password. Look for the DNS settings section.

6) Enter Smart DNS Proxy IPs
Replace the default DNS IPs with the Smart DNS Proxy IPs. Enter the Primary IP first and then the Secondary IP.

7) Save Your Settings
Click on the SAVE or APPLY button to save your changes.

8) Restart Your Router
Restart your router to apply the new DNS settings. Once the router is up and running, log in to your Smart DNS Proxy My Account section to verify that the changes have been implemented successfully.

Make sure you see three green ticks indicating that your IP is active. If it is inactive, click the update IP button to refresh it. That's it - you're now ready to enjoy faster and more secure internet browsing.

How To Setup Plug Proxy On Your Apple Time Capsule?

  1. Open Airport Utility (search for it using Mac Spotlight).

  3. Look for the WAN option and select it.
  4. Look for the item that allows connecting to a DNS server automatically and set it to NO.

  6. Press Apply to save the changes.

  8. Click on "System" on the left and select the "Restart" tab.
  9. Finally, click on the Restart button to apply the changes.

  4. Fill in the DNS Server Fields and select manually configure your DNS information for Primary and Secondary Servers.
  5. Check our DNS Server list to find the list of IP Addresses of our DNS servers.
  6. Select the closest DNS servers to your physical location as Primary.
  7. Then select the 2nd closest server to your physical location as a Secondary server.

How To Setup Plug Proxy On Your Xbox 360?

Before using a smart DNS Proxy service with your Xbox 360, you have to set up the router configuration.

  1. Go to the "System Settings" option on your Xbox.
  2. Select "Network Settings."
  3. Choose either "Wired Network" or the name of your wireless network.
  4. Select "Configure Network."
  5. On the "Settings" tab, select "DNS Settings."
  6. Choose "Manual."
  7. Select "Primary DNS Server" and "Secondary DNS Server."
  8. For the Primary DNS Server, choose the location closest to your physical location. For the Secondary DNS Server, choose the following closest location.
